Merlin was created by me- Queen Mab. I am the most powerful sorceress in the world and will be until the end of time. I never really needed Merlin. I just wanted to have a right hand man on my side to help me when I wanted help. However, when Merlin was finally old enough to know he had special powers he turned against me and vowed to never allow my reign again. Ha Ha Ha- I knew he would never defeat me. He then left his home to learn how to increase his powers with the teachings of my sister, the Lady of the Lake and Galapos, but unfortunatly was still not powerful enough to kill me.
Once Merlin got older, he became good friends with Uther and aided in his affair with Ygraine which produced a son Arthur. Merlin thinks he is so tough and can beat me? Well, let me tell you how I kept him on his toes. I helped Morgan LaFaye get pregnant with Mordred by Arthur so I would Continue to have connections to the throne. However, Mordred grew up to be just like me with all the brilliant ideas in mind of how to rule, but fights his father Arthur and they kill each other.
King Arthur's body was taken to Avalon to be buried. This is the end of the story for me. Mordred was my only hope for survival. He was supposed heir to the throne and because he died, I will die with him.
